Is the Link tool trustworthy?
Does anybody have know the answer to is question?
A funny thing happened this morning. I have been checking my inbound links every day for months, using the link tool for Google and Yahoo. I have been doing this because I have been submitting a couple of articles to directories (by hand) daily for some time.
My inbound links stopped going up quite a while ago, even though I know where most of the links are (literally). I assumed that they got updated every so often, so I was not worried.
Now here is the funny thing:
This morning I used the self seo tool to check my site, normal type of figure 28 links, I then checked Yahoo.co.uk, but instead of the usual 130 (donât know why they are always so different, gave up trying to find out, but they are constant) instead of the usual 130, I had a return of 260 odd. Great I thought, it has been updated.
I even went to look at one of the sites I am linked from, it is logged in that site as Monday, June 25, 2007.
Hereâs the rub. I came back this afternoon did the check on yahoo again, and it is back to ânormalâ and I canât find the site that was definitely there this morning, in the list of inbounds
If anybody has some sensible ideas as to what is happening please let me know. I am not into computers for a living, I have a well established estate agency in Bulgaria, and I try to do what I can to get the site noticed. I am definitely not doing anything untoward in terms of trying to manipulate the search engines in some funny way, all I am doing is trying to create valid links through article submission and blogs, and it is all done by hand.
