Wow, finally you've got a forum here  Congrats !
I am trying to improve my website's link popularity and am wondering if somebody has a good list of free SEO friendly directories (with static URL's) ?

There was another great site with a huge downloadable list of directories in CVS format but i can't find it anymore. Does anybody know what i am talking about ?

I keep a list of more than 450 at http://www.topwebsitetips.com/FreeLinks-Directories.aspx
I also keep lists of Article submission sites at http://www.topwebsitetips.com/ArticleSubmission.aspx
Both are set up to make it easy to submit to a lot of site quickly.

Philarmon: You are probably thinking of http://info.vilesilencer.com. They maintain about 200-250 search engine friendly free directories, though you'll find from time to time that the directories switch to paid as soon as they get listed.
Another useful resource is http://seocompany.ca They have several different lists of directories: free, paid, multiple link, etc. [Edited by kyleposey on 2006-02-08 21:48:23]

You should be aware that businessseek.biz and definiteweb.com look to be link farms, and if linked to your site may actually hurt your search engine rankings. This is because Google and some other search engines want links to your site to be natural and relevant.
For more info on link farms and SEO you should read some of my articles at:

They're broken into categories, so you can focus on specific areas you may think are weak on your site.

I have found one free PR2 website directory for SEO and website also provides links through article submission.
For the help of forum members I am giving below url
