* Go to the Slide you wish to add a narration to.
* From the Insert menu select Movies and Sounds.
* Click Record Sounds.
* When ready, click the Record button (the red circle).
* When finished recording, click the black Stop button.
* Click OK.

5. How to Add a Background Sound to a PowerPoint Slide

To add a background sound to a PowerPoint slide, follow this:
* Open the Insert menu.
* Select Movies and Sounds.
* Click Play CD Audio Track.

6. When Using AVI files with Presentations

Using an AVI file with a presentation may spice it up, but it can also ruin it. Make sure to keep your AVI file normal size. A movie playing that is viewed too big will not have anywhere near the quality that a smaller viewed movie will.

Create Duplicate Slides in PowerPoint 2007

Here's how to create duplicate slides in PowerPoint 2007:

In Normal view or Slide Sorter view make sure the slides you want to duplicate are selected
bullet

From the Home tab on the Ribbon in the Slides group click the small arrow beside New Slide
bullet

From the drop-down menu select Duplicate Selected Slides

The new slides are inserted after the current slide. If you use Slide Sorter view you can select and duplicate more than one slide at a time.

Saving Your Toolbar Configurations

If you like to customize your UI, move toolbars around, configure toolbars, etc, then you'll want to know that all this information is stored in c:\windows\application data\microsoft\powerpoint\ppt.pcb

Have you ever wanted to be able to run a PowerPoint slideshow in a window? There is a simple way to do this by adding a button to the Quick Access Toolbar. Here’s how:

Some PowerPoint Keyboard Tips

F5: To quickly launch your show from the beginning slide, hit the F5 above your keyboard.

Shift + F5: To quickly launch your show from the slide currently selected, hit Shift F5.

Ctrl M: To add a new slide at any point, press Ctrl M. (Ctrl N creates an entirely new presentation.)

Tab at bullet: To Demote a bullet point (making it a sub bullet), press tab at the front of the text.

Forgetting user reaction to this feature when it was introduced in Word years ago, the Office team decided to try it again. Unfortunately, it's still annoying. To see all of your options when you click on menus, go to Tools/Customize, click on the Options tab, and uncheck "menus show recently used commands".
