So, your eBooks aren’t selling on eBay?

Posted by James Penn on: 2006-07-10 00:06:33

Self SEO > E-books Articles

We’ve all been there. We’ve all had resale rights products that you can’t even seem to give away on eBay. It happens to the best sellers, the worst sellers and the average sellers. It’s part of selling eBooks on eBay… or is it?

There are a few little-known and highly effective techniques that you can implement to ensure your resale rights eBooks fly off of the digital shelves and into your customers’ hard drives. These techniques are unknown to the average eBay seller and even the majority of power sellers are still oblivious to the power of these strategies. Here are the techniques that I hope you implement to ensure your resale rights eBooks sell like crazy and make you greater profits.

Technique #1 – Manipulate the title of your auction

Maybe your eBook auction isn’t getting the hits it deserves? This calls for a change in the title. Did you know the term ‘resale rights’ is a commonly searched keyword? Why not take advantage of it? If you have space to fit in that term, then fit it in! For example if your auction was for the eBook “Info Profit with eBay” then create a title like this.

“Info Profit with eBay – Master Resale Rights” – Maybe the buyer doesn’t want to read the book but they may want to make money reselling it. It doesn’t matter what they do with it after they buy it, as long as you get paid.

Other keyword phrases you could include are:
“Info Profit with eBay – Make Money on eBay”
“Info Profit with eBay – Home Based Business Opportunity”
“Info Profit with eBay – Make money with eBooks on eBay”

Using keyword phrases like above will increase auction hits considerably. Having said that, only use phrases like above if they are relevant to the eBook you are selling.

However, on the other hand, you could create a title that’s so ambiguous it just forces viewers to click your link and open your auction. Something like this would suffice:

“I can’t believe I’m selling this so low…”

Technique #2 – Manipulate your sales letter to convert better

Maybe your auction is getting the hits but just not getting the sales?

In this instance, it’s the sales letter that needs to be altered. A change in the headline may be necessary. Call the potential buyer to action. Explain the benefits of buying your product and create an image of the benefits in their head.

Technique #3 – Manipulate the graphics

Your resale rights product came with an eCover graphic but it just isn’t up to scratch. It’s ugly and turns prospects away instantly – it needs to be changed!

You can find hundreds of graphic designers around the place however the most popular seems to be www.ecoverfrog.com Get a new eBook design to suit the mood of the product and add it to your auction.

Technique #4 – Add Bonuses!

Maybe your resale rights product isn’t value for money and you need a little something to sweeten the deal. Find a few relevant eBooks that would accompany your product perfectly. For example, the eBook “Info Profit with eBay” explains how you can make money with eBooks on eBay but the buyer may also want to learn how to create info products and how to write sales letters. Add two products that suit this need.

If you’ve read through this article (rather than just skipped to this bit) then you will have now learned four techniques to help your resale rights eBooks fly off the proverbial digital shelves resulting in more sales for you and more money in your paypal account. I hope you implement these techniques and I hope you experience the same results that I do. Good luck!
